Mighty Big Wheel House Rules

Welcome to Mighty Big Wheel, our “home away from home.” As you know, this is our personal home and not a hotel, so please treat our beach house as you would staying at a friend’s or relative’s home by following these simple house rules. 

Maximum Capacity

Up to 16 people, including children and day visitors, may use the cabin at any given time. For all guests above the maximum capacity, you will be charged $100 per guest per day.

Prohibited Activities

  • No illegal activities allowed on the premises.
  • No drugs and fireworks allowed on the premises.
  • No large group events, parties, or gatherings on-site.
  • No smoking/vaping of any kind indoors. Guests may smoke on the decks (with doors and windows closed) and outside areas only. Throw away all cigarette butts into the trash. Any evidence of smoking/vaping inside the house will result in a forfeit of the security deposit in its entirety.
  • No pets are allowed on the premises. We love four-legged friends! However, to keep the cabin as clean and allergy-free as possible, pets are NOT allowed. (We don’t bring our babies either.) Any evidence of pets will result in a forfeit of the damage deposit in its entirety.

Use of Property

  • Furniture Use: Do not move any furniture, especially the pool table. Any evidence of the pool table being moved will result in a forfeit of the damage deposit in its entirety.
  • House Appliances + Features: Use all appliances and house features only as intended. Any evidence that guests have damaged and/or destroyed any part of the property from misuse or abuse will result in repair or replacement costs in their entirety.
  • Toilet Use: Do not flush anything other than toilet paper into the toilet. Prohibited items include, but are not limited to, feminine products, diapers, paper towels, and wet wipes. 
  • No Garbage Disposal: Use the sink strainers when washing dishes, and dispose of all food scraps into the trash because there is NO garbage disposal.
  • Linens + Towels: Do not wash our white linens and towels with your laundry. Do not use the white towels at the beach or for wiping up spills or make up.
  • BBQ Grill Use: If a grill is available, remove any food scaps from the grill after cooking to reset it for next use.
  • Be Eco-Friendly: Turn off all TVs and lights when not in use.
  • Trash Pick Up: Dispose of all trash into the garbage cans located behind the front stairway under the front deck. Do not throw trash off the deck or leave it in the driveway. You are expected to bring all yellow-lidded garbage cans to the road for trash service every Tuesday and Friday night (March through Labor Day) OR Sunday and Wednesday night (remainder of September through February). After the trash is picked up, pls bring the trash cans back to the house.
  • No Fireplace Use: Fireplace is non-operational at all times. Please do not attempt to use the fireplace.

Nuisance Avoidance

  • Clean Kitchen: Clean dishes, kitchen counters, and dining tables after meals and keep all food in sealed containers or refrigerators to avoid pests (e.g. cockroaches, ants, and rodents).
  • Close Doors: Always keep all windows and doors closed to deter flying insects from entering the house. Bright lights easily attracts these types of pests.
  • Be Respectful: Observe quiet hours outdoors from 10 P.M. EST to 8 A.M. EST.

Unforeseen Circumstances

  • Utility Disruptions: Electricity, internet, and/or cable services may get interrupted during storms. These disruptions are rare and services usually resume after a couple of hours.
  • Hurricanes & Storms: The Gulf Shores of Alabama has a widely known hurricane season that runs from June 1 to November 30 every year. NO refunds will be given due to weather conditions. Please plan accordingly and purchase traveler’s insurance, as you deem necessary.

Conditions for Extra Fees

In the event that the house is found in any of the following conditions upon your departure, you will be charged extra deep cleaning fees and/or replacement costs. 

  • The house is left extremely dirty with trash, unwashed dishes, cigarette butts littered on decks or grounds, etc. An extra cleaning fee of $425 shall be charged.
  • The house is left trashed due to abusive use and/or having an unapproved event or large party in the cabin. A deep cleaning fee of $500 shall be charged.
  • The house and furniture show evidence of you bringing an unapproved pet into the house. A deep cleaning fee of $500 shall be charged.
  • The house and furniture show evidence of unpermitted indoor smoking. A deep cleaning fee of $500 shall be charged.
  • Furniture, appliances, and/or home goods are left in damaged condition or destroyed due to misuse and/or abusive use. Home goods may include but are not limited to, dining ware, cookware, linens, and towels. Repair or replacement costs shall be charged.
